December 2006: Gourmands can now enjoy a luxurious retreat and hone their culinary skills at the same time with new cookery classes from One&Only Maldives at Reethi Rah.

Our team of international chefs will be presenting three classes per week, each showcasing a different type of cuisine. Clad in specially designed One&Only Maldives chef's aprons, guests will learn practical skills in the kitchen and receive recipe cards in order to recreate dishes at home.

Curry Experience (Reethi Restaurant), Sundays at 11.30am - Learn to cook delicious spicy curries from every part of Asia with our local and international team of chefs. Whether Thai, Indian, Maldivian or Sri Lankan, our chefs will show you how to combine healthy, fresh ingredients with culinary skill to produce curries that look and taste fabulous.

The class will be held in the Reethi Restaurant kitchen, where you will learn how to use the most basic to the most technical of culinary devices. Suited to all skill levels, our chefs will tailor each class to the participants' individual needs and desires. Each class will include tastings of the dishes prepared.

Sushi and Sashimi with Chef Hiro (Tapasake), Tuesdays at 5pm - Impress your friends at your next dinner party with home-made sushi and sashimi. Our Japanese chef, Hiro, will share his secrets for creating the most sophisticated seafood dishes. The chic setting of Tapasake is ideal for this stylish yet practical class.

Lebanese Mezze (Fanditha), Fridays at 5pm - Enjoy the delights of an outdoor BBQ kitchen at Fanditha, where our Lebanese chef, Issa, will teach you how to create delicious mezzes, grills and dips. This class is the perfect opportunity to learn skills for those summer BBQs so you can recreate the magic of Fanditha at home! From vegetarian delights to kebabs cooked to perfection, Lebanon is just the start in learning this exhaustive menu of Middle Eastern inspired treats.
