South Africa, Cape Town, September 2017; One&Only Cape Town is excited to launch an exclusive Art and Accommodation package, based on a two-night minimum stay. The new package celebrates the city’s reputation as a cutting edge art and design hub, as well as its reputation for being one of the world’s best food and drink capitals. There is no better place to be right now than Cape Town, especially since the September opening of the highly anticipated Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa (Zeitz MOCAA). Located in the new Silo Design District within the city’s working harbour, Zeitz MOCAA is the world’s largest museum dedicated to modern art from across Africa and the diaspora. Designed by British architect Thomas Heatherwick, the museum is at the heart of a re-purposed former grain silo. At its core is a soaring cathedral-like atrium, carved out of the silo’s concrete storage cylinders, the design of which was inspired by the shape and structure of a grain kernel.
Given that One&Only Cape Town already offers high-end, bespoke art tours led by Cape Town art expert Joao Ferreira, a highlight of the new accommodation package includes a privately curated half-day tour of Zeitz MOCAA with Joao Ferreira plus two complimentary entrance tickets to the museum. It also includes a half-day excursion to Lalela, an outreach project supported by One&Only Cape Town, that harnesses the transformative power of art education in South Africa; a private invitation to visit NEO Boutique to peruse our collection of contemporary African art; an Art of Mixology cocktail master class presented in Vista Lounge; and a Food is Art five-course wine-paired dinner hosted by Nobu Cape Town. Furthermore, guests are encouraged to take inspiration from the magnificent views of the harbour, ocean, city and Table Mountain to create their own masterpiece - each guest room will be equipped with an easel, canvas, brush set and set of acrylics. And for younger guests, KidsOnly club will be hosting daily art and craft workshops.
