Munro Montanus is a registered physiotherapist and a member of the South African Society of physiotherapy. Over the years he developed a special interest and expertise in assessment, treatment and management of patients, as well as in exercise and rehabilitation programmes.
He has also successfully completed several therapy courses in dry needling, mobilization with movement, manipulative course therapy and taping and strapping therapies. Munro has a keen interest in many sporting codes including squash, football, athletics to name a few – and has represented South Africa’s Western Province in the national squash tournaments.
Depending on cause of injury new or old and initial assessment and diagnoses will be made. Treatment will follow assessment. Treatment modalities that may be used include Specific Soft tissue manipulation, joint treatment/manipulation, strapping for support or protection, dry needling, and rehabilitation stretches/exercises/education.
This treatment includes Neck, Shoulders, Back, Buttocks and Legs’ Use of Arnica oil to help release tight muscle structures for effective muscle activity.
This is an effective treatment for neck and shoulder pain as well as for headache Treatment includes deep tissue manual muscle release of neck and shoulder muscles’ Use of dry needles for deep muscle tissue release and to increase blood flow and neurological muscle activation. Additional postural education will be added if necessary.
Activity/Treatment includes basic balance assessment. Clients will then be put through various static as well as dynamic balance exercises and core strengthening, activities which is vital for a strong healthy back and to maintain good posture in all sporting and activities of daily living. This session will be pitched at the level of the clients and will progress accordingly getting more challenging as one improves.
