Victor Churchill Partners With Emirates One&Only Wolgan Valley For An Unforgettable Meat-Lovers Weekend 16-18 September, 2016

Victor Churchill’s Anthony Puharich, Australia’s favourite butcher, will be carving up an unforgettable gourmet weekend at Emirates One&Only Wolgan Valley this spring.

From Friday, 16 September – Sunday, 18 September 2016, the Victor Churchill Weekend at Emirates One&Only Wolgan Valley will give budding butchers and quality meat lovers alike the chance to learn from the master and enjoy a weekend that truly celebrates the very best of Australia. This will include local meat, matched with award-winning local wines and the finest produce sourced in and around the Greater Blue Mountains region*. 

Anthony Puharich, who will host the weekend, is an Australian culinary legend. He is the wholesaler of quality meat to Australia’s finest restaurants, the driving force behind the family company Vic’s Premium Quality Meat and the star presenter on Foxtel’s ‘Ask the Butcher’ television series. But perhaps most famously, he is the man behind Victor Churchill, the Woollahra store that A.A. Gill dubbed ‘the Tom Ford of butchers’ and that Anthony Bourdain described at ‘the best food store in the world’. 

The weekend will kick off on Saturday with a breakfast feast prepared by Victor Churchill’s head chef Romeo Baudouin, featuring Victor Churchill in-house specialties such as handmade sausages, dry cured bacon, hand-smoked salmon, boudin noir, Kurobuta ham, Iggy’s bread and Cornucopia eggs. Guests will then experience an unforgettable Victor Churchill Masterclass hosted by Anthony Puharich, who, with head butcher Darren O’Rourke, will teach guests about which cut of beef is which and how to break down a full rump and loin, concluding with a ‘talk and taste’ session. Guests can opt for the morning or afternoon session and can take in the stunning bushland environs of Emirates One&Only Wolgan Valley with a charcuterie picnic lunch at leisure.
In the evening, Anthony Puharich and Emirates One&Only Wolgan Valley’s Head Chef Nancy Kinchela will host an unforgettable gourmet barbecue under the stars, showcasing the very best and most exciting cuts of Victor Churchill meats matched to local, award-winning wines and freshest produce direct from the resort’s very own Kitchen Garden. The barbecue will take place by campfire at the historic 1832 Heritage Homestead and will undoubtedly be the highlight of the Victor Churchill Weekend.
