Can polo be played in all seasons? And do you have a favourite time of year to play at One&Only Mandarina?

Polo can only be played in dry weather, which is why polo tournaments travel all around the world avoiding wet seasons. Playing at One&Only Mandarina is always a pleasure, but spring brings out the best in nature. You can see the flora and fauna of the area in its prime, with plenty of exotic animals around the field. Plus, an amazing crowd that makes every game better.

What’s the best thing about playing at Mandarina Polo & Equestrian Club? And what’s your role at the club?

The best part about playing at Mandarina is, no matter your experience level, you can still enjoy the life of a professional player because of the world-class facilities and horses here. It’s our job to manage the horses’ training routines, diet, wellness and health. We also coordinate the polo lessons, riding lessons and horseback riding, and plan the weekend polo matches.

What’s it like playing as brothers – and do you play with each other or against each other?

Before One&Only Mandarina, we used to play every single tournament together. It was great knowing exactly where in the field your brother is running with no need to talk. Now we play against each other, which is a wonderful challenge because we are very competitive and we know each other’s moves so well. Neither of us wants to miss the chance to score!

What other equestrian activities can One&Only guests enjoy at the club between games?

Our guests feel part of the family every time they step into the barn because we tailor an incredible experience for each person. That means finding the proper horse and the right experience, from horseback riding on the trails to a riding or polo lesson. We love sharing the field with our guests so they can play at least one chukker with us and live the polo experience.
