One&Only Ocean Club Unveils Plans for Renovation

Long recognized as one of the world’s most exclusive resorts, the iconic One&Only Ocean Club resort has unveiled planned enhancements to raise the bar on ultra-luxury in The Bahamas. The improvements will include completely renovated and expanded guest rooms and suites in the Hartford Wing and expansion of dining options within Dune restaurant by Jean-Georges Vongerichten. Once completed, the resort will retain what guests have always loved – a sense of exclusive privacy in a relaxed setting with a beachfront unsurpassed in The Bahamas. Guests will also discover many new luxury experiences, along with a heightened level of service.

“The planned enhancements are consistent with the secluded private-estate feel of the resort, but will elevate its sophistication and offerings and enrich the guest experience,” said Jonah Sonnenborn, Head of Real Estate at Access Industries. "The new Hartford wing and dining options will amplify the already extraordinary experience of this spectacular property, with its unmatched beachfront and historic Versailles gardens.”

“One&Only Ocean Club is an iconic, exclusive resort and the planned renovations will make it better than ever,” said Mark DeCocinis, President/Chief Operating Officer, One&Only Resorts. “With our passionate team led by General Manager John Conway, we will continue to focus on providing guests the best service in The Bahamas.”

The entire Hartford Wing of One&Only Ocean Club is being renovated, with guest rooms increasing in size by 110 square feet offering an expansive terrace or balcony with views of the ocean and lush resort gardens. In addition, each room will have a complete makeover including new furnishings, fabrics and color schemes that amplify the distinctive palette of The Bahamas -- cerulean blues, aquamarine and the bleached white of Bahamian sand. The bathrooms will be completely transformed with stellar white and blue de savoie marble throughout, plus modernized separate bath and rain shower, along with double vanities. The Hartford Courtyard will be completely redesigned to allow for a luxurious relaxation experience for guests. As always, to underscore One&Only Ocean Club’s unique atmosphere, every guest is served by a butler whose role is to cater to each guest’s comfort, with intuitive anticipation of guest needs and desires.

Dining will also be redefined with new twists added to Dune by Michelin-starred Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten – a long-time favorite for guests and local residents alike. In addition to the current dining experience at Dune, One&Only Ocean Club will expand both the restaurant and the Dune Deck, not only enabling more guests to enjoy the incredible sea views but also expanding the culinary choices for guests and residents.

The extensive renovation is in collaboration with world-class design consultants HKS Architects (HKS) and Jeffrey Beers International (JBI). A commitment to detail and quality in order to deliver the ultimate guest experience through great design has been the driving force for creating the new look and feel of the resort. Additionally, a strong focus has been placed on showcasing the magnificent views and surroundings of the resort.

As the iconic luxury retreat in the Caribbean, One&Only Ocean Club offers a bespoke experience with the seclusion of what feels like a private residence, overlooking the best beach in The Bahamas. With new enhancements, the resort will be better than ever and remain unrivalled in its suite of offerings including expanded and more immersive culinary experiences; unparalleled family offerings and KidsOnly programming; an indulgent Spa and cutting-edge Fitness Centre; active excursions and unrivaled service.
