What are your top tips for anyone trying to improve their surfing?

Pay attention to the ocean before paddling out. Always work on entering the waves with speed and strength.

You come from a family of surfers. What was life like, growing up?

Growing up in a surfing environment has given me a calm approach to a somewhat intimidating sport. I was raised to focus on the ocean and what it is capable of – reading currents and finding good waves.

What do you love most about surfing?

I love that surfing allows me to turn off from society and tune into nature. The ocean brings me humility and happiness, time after time.

What advice would you give to young female surfers who dream of having a career like yours?

Love what you’re doing. Write down small goals: surfing and learning the ocean is a long game. Let surfing consume you! It’s healthy and you will be happy.

Have you learnt any valuable life lessons through surfing?

I’ve learned a million valuable life lessons through surfing, some being: humility, dedication and passion. Surfing has made me discover my true self.
